My name is Ken Coia, and I began my plumbing career in the year 2000. I have worked for plumbing companies both large and small, doing both construction plumbing and service/repair plumbing, in a variety of settings, including single-family homes, condos and townhouses, multistory apartment buildings, schools, factories, offices, restaurants and more.
About Coia & Son Plumbing
Besides plumbing, I have also installed gas piping and installed and repaired steam and hot water boilers. I have responded to many emergency calls outside of regular business hours, including troubleshooting no-heat calls.
I have always enjoyed working with my hands, and derive great satisfaction from building and fixing things. This drive has extended into my plumbing career; it provides a great sense of purpose to solve other peoples’ plumbing problems.
Plumbing, especially doing service and repair work, is a perfect career for someone who likes a high degree of variety in their work; no two jobs are the same, and it is interesting to see new places and meet different people (and especially dogs - I am a huge dog person!).
After many years of working for other plumbing companies, I decided that 2025 was the time to form my own company. As a sole owner unencumbered by corporate bureaucracy, I am able to provide more personalized service and attention to detail than a larger company. Also, I have lower overhead than a large company, and can therefore pass those savings onto you, the customer.
Who is the ‘son’ in Coia & Son? His name is Ricky, and he previously worked with me as a helper at another plumbing company. Although he left to work in the automotive field, he has expressed interest in returning to the plumbing trade, and plans to rejoin me some time in the future. I believe part of my role as a Master Plumber is to pass on my knowledge to younger plumbers, who will continue the tradition of keeping the water flowing.
